The City of Leeds is rapidly developing with the Council playing an important role in this process.  The Civil Engineering Service within Highways and Transportation has been created to meet the challenges ahead, as having the right infrastructure is essential in delivering the “Best Council Plan”.

With over £1 billion of planned, publicly and privately financed infrastructure to be delivered in the next decade we are looking for experienced professionals to populate vacancies at certain levels within the Civil Engineering Service.

These roles offer stimulating and rewarding career opportunities to be involved in the continuing development of Leeds.  The post holders will be required to work as part of a small group of professional and technical staff offering an in-house consultancy service to both internal and external clients.

Based in a modern city centre office, the post-holders will also be required to work collaboratively with internal and external partners, consultants and contractors to oversee and successfully deliver feasibility studies, detailed design and construction management of highway engineering schemes and other related civil engineering infrastructure projects.

As a senior member within a team engaged on the delivery of highway and other civil engineering schemes undertake design and construction management activities as required and supervise the work of other staff within the team.
