Snr Civil / Structural Engineer - 6-9 month contract
Your new company
You will be working as part of a large estates team who are responsible for the design, installation , construction, and maintenance of a variety of built assets. The role is primarily to be the subject matter experts for the organisation in civil and structural engineering.
Your new role
You will be required to provide technical expertise to a wide range of queries include any aspect of civil or structural engineering, particularly the high risk areas of masts & towers, lowerable structures, ageing WW2 hangars, bridges, embankments, retaining structures and seismic assessments, as well as all types of building structure or fabric, and facilities such as obstacle course structures.
The scope includes any stage such as input to contract documents, design, installation, commissioning, maintenance, repair, refurbishment and diagnosis of problems. There is an emphasis on the maintenance function in this role and a large part of the role will include involvement in maintenance and providing advice and expertise on this , including supporting contractors.
You will also lead on working at height policy for safe systems of work, monitor it's implementation, and provide advice. The role involves investigation of incidents & accidents, with preparation and issue of safety alerts when required
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally you will have worked for any of the recognised civil & structural consultancies or design department of contractors involved in Civil or structural engineering and ideally have a good all round knowledge civil and structural engineering, although there is a bias to structures. Formal qualifications in either civil or structural engineering and ideally chartered, MICE or MIStructE or working towards it.
What you'll get in return
There is a long term contract term available at around 6-9 months in duration, a competitive day rate. A varied working day as the estate is extremely varied which will provide a number of engineering challenges and no two days are the same.
