Your new role

You will work as an Senior Technical Research Engineer, and you will work on several projects, both from the technical part and the research part. You will report to the technical director and join the team to carry out research and design on projects and to support the technical director in management and development of technical resources for the office. Recent example of projects include research into composite engineered timber, an embodied carbon counter tool and dynamic analysis and response measurement of constructed frames. Other projects are internal projects involving "Research & development of more common structural concepts, helping to expand the company's knowledge & service". These currently include a timber and sustainability focus group and drawing/analytical model integration. Other responsibilities include seeking opportunities to connect and partner with industry or academia to further the research and knowledge, assisting where relevant with or writing articles or papers on research projects you have been involved with and reporting to the technical director as part of the technical team and providing support with ongoing technical management and development for the office, such as approach notes, calculation templates, and technical queries.

What you'll need to succeed

A strong background in structural engineering, having worked in several projects,
technical knowledge, along with a strong academic background in structural engineering, as a senior structural engineer, or an associate. You will be in the position to work on your own initiative, with minimum supervision and be in the position to multi task and manage several aspects of the job.
