Fehily Timoney and Company (FT) is one of Ireland’s largest Irish owned consultants with centres of excellence in Civil Infrastructure, Waste & Resource Management and Renewables. FT provides design and contract management services for the construction of infrastructure projects such as roads, bridgeworks, rail, solid waste facilities, renewable energy, drainage, water and wastewater treatment facilities, airports, tunnels and gas pipelines.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Chartered Engineer status
- 10 years post-graduate experience with experience in the design of highway schemes in Ireland
- Good working knowledge of highway design software such as MX and AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Candidate should be a high-energy professional with excellent communication, organisation and analytical skills
- Experience of engaging with external stakeholders, clients, sub-contractors
- Flexible and a good team player
- Works efficiently and on own initiative
- Must be prepared to travel to site visits and client meetings
- Full Drivers Licence
The Principal Design Engineer will, amongst other things, be responsible for:
- Leading the highways design team, ensuring projects are delivered to the required timescales, quality and costs
- Supervising and mentoring senior and junior staff within the highways section
- Preparing technical reports and tender documents including bills of quantities and specifications
- Planning and managing CAD documentation of design work, working closely with Engineering Technicians
- Completing engineering designs to the relevant standards
- Ensuring compliance with our quality assurance and management systems and relevant health and safety legislation
- Coordinating his/her work with other members of the project team
