Managing Director (Infrastructure)

Our client specialises in the delivery of high quality engineering solutions and they work on a variety of interesting and challenging schemes including economic regeneration, sustainable development , urban transportation and others. They are continuing to expand teams and are looking for a Managing Director to lead the 50 strong team in their London office.

They require an enthusiastic, driven & charismatic individual who is willing to become involved in business development; maintaining & strengthening existing client relationships as well as seeking out new work & forming new relationships for the company. Ideally the successful candidate.

Key responsibilities:

• Effectively manage the Business to achieve the financial and non-financial targets agreed,
• Responsibility for the day to day management of the Business,
• To develop the strategic business plan for all parts of the Business,
• Work closely with the Design Directors to secure new work,
• Build strong relationships with Clients and fellow professionals,
• Report to the Board and delivering a five year plan to secure agreed growth and profit targets,
• Set the business budgets and forecasts with support from the Financial Director and CEO,
• Manage the Business operations to achieve the performance targets.
• Review opportunities to increase efficiencies and speed up processes across the business.

Requirements:

• A recognised engineering degree in a relevant discipline,
• A Fellow or Chartered Member of an industry related Professional Body,
• Possess an excellent technical background in the design and delivery of project in a relevant discipline,
• A high level of IT literacy,
• High adaptability to change and able to execute quickly, ie long-term strategic thinking to implementing immediate actions,
• Proven experience as Managing Director or other main board position,
• Relevant industry experience with an in depth knowledge of the target markets and changing business environments,
• A thorough knowledge of market changes and forces that influence the company,
• Experience in developing strategic and business plans.

They need a high calibre individual with a desire to nurture and develop team members in order to maximise their full potential - an ambitious natural leader and first class communicator with high energy levels.
