Flood Project Engineer – Post Ref: CC34
Calderdale is a beautiful metropolitan borough in West Yorkshire, at the heart of the Yorkshire Pennines. Its spectacular natural landscape, fabulously rich heritage, vibrant towns, quirky culture, tremendous architecture and community spirit make it a great place to live, work and visit. This natural beauty does bring its challenges; the steep sided valleys make it responsive to rainfall with a long history of flooding. Protecting the communities is a Council priority at the heart of the work carried out by the flood risk management team.
The team are looking to recruit a Flood Project Engineer to investigate the causes of flooding and to develop and deliver a multi-million pound programme of flood risk reduction schemes. This will involve working with a range of stakeholders including the Environment Agency and other flood risk management partners to produce positive and creative solutions. Project management of engineering consultants and contractors will form a key part of the role.
The successful applicant will enjoy partnership working and be qualified to degree level in a relevant subject. We particularly welcome interest from individuals with recognised engineering qualifications who may hold chartered/incorporated status with an appropriate professional body (e.g. ICE or CIWEM) or have equivalent relevant experience.
Closing Date: Sunday 9th August 2020
Calderdale are following social distancing precautions and may utilise digital interview methods.
