Associate/Associate Director - up to £40k basic plus profit share

Structural design consultancy based in South Guildford require an ambitious Senior Structural Engineer/Associate to join their team with a view to potentially taking over the practice in the future from the current Director. This would be a role for a high calibre, forward thinking individual who is willing to take a risk in the initial stages, which could turn into a future goldmine. The initial salary is likely to be in the range of £40k with profit share on top, so total earnings will depend on how well the business does and your individual input. Could suit someone who has been recently made redundant.

You must be keen to work in a small practice where you will be multi-tasking on a variety of buildings structures projects, be able to hands on design and manage clients. Business development skills are essential and it would be expected that you could bring work in and ideally bring some clients with you. Most of the projects are in the residential sector but there are some commercial and light industrial buildings. They have some exciting work such as Celebrity houses with basement car parks. Projects are generally in the region of £1-3m.

The work is varied including all the main design materials. This role will be to lead a team, manage projects, hands on design, manage clients and win business. The role will include representing the company at meetings and liaising with clients and architects, so excellent communication skills are essential, as well as a desire to assist in mentoring the practice graduate engineers. A Chartered Engineer who is a car driver would be preferred.
