Principal Bridge Engineer

Conrad Consulting is supporting tier 1 consulting engineer in their efforts to appoint a Principal Bridge Engineer in the Glasgow office.

This role is best suited to a Chartered Bridge Engineer with extensive design & analysis experience in the UK.

You will report directly to the Operations Director within the Transportation Division and be responsible for day-to-day running of a local cost centre which currently houses a dozen Engineers & Technicians.

While still remaining hands-on in terms of technical design & delivery, you will be responsible for liaising directly with clients, multi-disciplinary colleagues and external consultants.

Previous cost centre management experience and exposure to financial control is not required although, in this new role, you will be required to develop this area of your skillset as required under the guidance and support of your Operations Director.

Requirements:

It goes without saying you should have significant design/analysis experience on bridge schemes in the UK. Beyond that, it's expected you are:

• Chartered (MICE/MIStructE or similar)
• Familiar with DMRB and NEC contracts
• Able and willing to support more junior team members with their professional development
• A strong communicator with the confidence to liaise with internal & external parties
