Senior Electrical Design Engineer

An opportunity for a senior electrical design engineer to join a successful multi-discipline consulting practice that is expanding their busy electrical division. Our client is looking for a chartered electrical engineer. Alternatively, an experienced incorporated electrical engineer or someone who is approaching chartered status. The practice is especially active within the education, industrial, rail and health sectors.

Reporting to the electrical director you will play a key role in the design and delivery of projects and the supervision of junior engineers and technicians. The position is client facing and you will be involved in specification, site supervision, quality control and developing designs from first principals. Projects will include co-ordination with mechanical services and cover, lighting, fire alarm, CCTV, lighting protection, building management systems, high and low voltage systems and renewable technology. 

About you:  An electrical design background gained within a consulting environment focused on electrical building services. Broad experience enabling you to tackle a range of technical challenges. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential, there will be extensive interaction with clients and third parties. You should  have some working knowledge of  software such as DIALux and Relux or similar and Auto CAD and be able to work in a BIM environment.
