Our international award-winning Transport Projects Team is looking for a Project Engineer-Highways for a 2 years fixed term contract (4 posts-M10 band £36,922-£39,880).

As one of the first councils in the country to declare a climate and biodiversity emergency, Brighton and Hove is leading the way in supporting residents, visitors and people who work in the city to cut their carbon emissions so that we can become carbon neutral by 2030. It’s an ambitious target and one that requires innovative and radical thinking when it comes to improving and designing the city’s transport network to enable more sustainable travel that reduces our carbon footprint.

As a Highways Project Engineer, you will be working on pedestrian and cycling improvements, junction improvements, traffic calming and Safer route to school schemes from inception to completion. You will be working alongside a Project Manager in a team friendly environment to deliver on time and on budget.  

Skills and experience required

•             Experience in highways design and local transport

•             Experience to use AutoCAD 2D

•             Experience of the preparation of clear, concise and easy to read technical drawings.

•             Experience of preparing bill of quantities for highways works

•             Experience of NEC3 contract administration and management
