Role Purpose

The post holder provides a Technical and Health and Safety planning service supporting our field teams in the delivery of flood risk asset maintenance and Capital improvements. 

The post holder contributes to the forward planning processes and is essential in the delivery of the asset management maintenance and capital works programmes and incident response. 

Qualifications and Skills

A recent civil engineering graduate or an experienced Engineering Technician, you will be contributing to and monitoring the planning and delivery of the flood defence maintenance programme, including individual projects. Using CAD, GIS and other proprietary systems you will be producing critical documents to be used in the delivery of Flood Risk Management Programmes.

The work is varied and includes supporting our team with data and financial management, procuring goods and services, adhering to framework agreements and following processes and procedures. You will also provide financial and technical data, including estimating, to enable accurate costing to ensure efficient and effective delivery of works to meet cost, quality, and deadlines

Working in a team of experienced technical staff, you will be delivering a flood risk-based maintenance service within one of our South Wales based teams.  Also, you may be involved in NRWs emergency Response to flooding as a CAT 1 Responder. This will require participating in a standby rota and working in our incident rooms on occasions.
