Automation Controls Engineer

Automation Controls Engineer required to join a leading production firm in Greater Belfast.

Your new company
As the new Automation Controls Engineer you will be joining a highly successful high speed production company who are currently experiencing a period of growth and prosperity. This long established manufacturing firm are one of the leading names in their field (textiles) and serve the UK and Irish markets.

Your new role
In new your role you will take up a position of significant importance within the Engineering team and be tasked with helping to transition automation, controls and electronics in house. You will be tasked with programming and upgrading various PLC systems, identifying areas of production for improvement and implementing new automated controls to improve output. You will be tasked with reviewing all legacy work and creating a transparent controls road-map for all current and future Engineers to follow. You will work in conjunction with the wider engineering team and sub-contractors on commissioning, installation and cap-ex projects.

What you'll need to succeed
To prove successful in securing this new role you should be coming with recognised industry qualification in Electrical, Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering. You should have at least 5 years previous experience in PLC programming, controls and automation. You should have hands on experience with the ability to carry out installation and commissioning projects.
