Job Details

A sales estimator position with a successful manufacturer in the Colne area working with the estimating team.

Your new company
Your new company is a large family run manufacturing business based in Colne. The company specifically deals within the Nuclear industry, however does complete work for the aerospace and pharmaceutical industries as well. They are looking for a new estimator due to retirement and due to an increase in workload. Their order book has significantly grown over the past 12 months and their growth is continuing.

Your new role
You will be inspecting tender documentation, analysing requirements and identify implications to be noted. You need to be able to produce quotations and monitor enquiry process and sates for the quote returns. Furthermore, you will liaise with customers and assist them in finding the best methods/products. You will be tasked with the initial completion of the method of manufacture routing then liaising with the manufacturing department in order to detail routing with the package. You will be assessing the rates and prices or create new dependent on customer and market requirements. This list is not exhaustive. You will be highly depended on to push the company forward.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role you will need a technical or professional engineering qualification and a strong record within and engineering or manufacturing environment. You need experience in report writing, strong knowledge of engineering, fabrication or machining and you must be able to understand engineering drawings and specs. Strong PC skills would help and excellent communication skills are needed. You need to have previously worked as a qualified engineer in fabrication which is essential, machining ability would be desirable. You will need experience with estimating projects that are £500k+ to be considered for interview.

What you'll get in return
In return you will receive a competitive salary up to £38,000 and 33 days annual leave (28 are already fixed). You will then receive life insurance, pension scheme contributions and company health care when the probation period is done.
