Project / FM Manager MOD maintenance projects
Working for a Maintenance and FM provider to the MOD. You will be based on various MOD base and so this role requires security clearance to BPSS level.
As a project manager you will be responsible from "cradle to grave" for all projects valued at £50k - £250k. This could be anything to do with the built environment from window and flat roof replacement to P&D, gas pipelines; district heating,Hot water and heating repairs ; Fire alarm replacement schemes and even concreting roads. You will take the brief, design, tender, manage the work on site with external contractor, and hand over to client. This is a very process led system with up to 36 stages on the planned maintenance system , so 70% of this role is office and IT systems led, with the rest of the time out on site. The type of buildings typically include accommodation blocks, catering facilities, workshops, garages, hangers, roads, training units.
What you'll need to succeed
A strong background in managing multiple high volume low cost maintenance and refurbishment projects, ideally within a similar background ( NHS, Public Sector, MOD) . It is essential that you have strong IT skills and ideally are used to working via FM/ maintenance programming of work systems.( CAFM) You need to have a relevant qualification in a building trade or HNC or Degree in surveying or construction. The route you have taken education wise is less important and can be flexible as it is the experience and skill set that is important.
As the work is so varied Applications are welcome from Mechanical & Electrical Project managers or Building Structures ( fabric) project managers and you will run projects relevant to your background and experience.
You will need to be manage and take total ownership of a problem and tackle things head on straight away in a confident manner.
The role covers multiple MOD sites and so travel will be required and it is working on site,not from home due to security restrictions.
What you'll get in return
£225 per day ( umbrella)inside IR 35. 3 Month contract initially but could run until end July. Mileage paid between site visits.
You must be able and willing to pass a BPSS security check
