We are seeking to recruit a Principal Engineer to join our Transport Infrastructure team in Reading. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy and ambitious group with a strong forward workload. We have been at the heart of the Thames Valley community for many years and are now looking at further expansion.

Our office is located at Caversham Bridge House, just a short walk from Reading Station. Here, we have a Civil Infrastructure team of 50+ Engineers that collaborate with a wide variety of other disciplines to deliver effective solutions to our clients. We can offer a great environment to work in along with the flexibility of working from home which will help maintain a good work life balance.  

Our projects include a wide range of public and private sector schemes that include some significant roads and highways projects from small scale local schemes to larger national frameworks.

On a day to day basis, you will play an important role within our team. You will support the production of drainage/highway designs and provision for all types and scales of development projects and assist in securing S278/S38 and S104 technical approvals. You will work with Engineer and Technician colleagues in the effective delivery of outputs to agreed deadlines.

You will liaise with the internal and external clients and design teams on projects and be involved in the delivery and management of successful and timely outcomes. Your role will be varied and challenging, and you will have the opportunity to learn from the wider group and take your career to the next level.

About You

You’ll be a BSc/BEng/MEng qualified and Incorporated or Chartered (Or on route to chartership). Ideally, you will have expertise in development, highway and civil infrastructure design to deliver multi-disciplinary projects for the entire lifecycle – from concept, feasibility and planning through to detailed design and delivery. Skills with microdrainage and Civils 3D are advantageous.
