Nottinghamshire County Council is seeking to appoint a Principal Officer to its Highways Development Control Team. With a strong background in Highways development Control, you will take a lead role in providing highways advice on large scale developments across Nottinghamshire as well as overseeing the delivery of new roads and junction improvements through the Section 38 and 278 process. You will also be responsible for the management and mentoring of more junior staff to ensure highway responses to local planning authorities are provided in a timely and accurate manner.

You’ll be educated to degree level in Civil Engineering/Transportation or can demonstrate equivalent qualification through a minimum of 10 years’ experience in highway design, delivery and transport planning. You’ll have a track record of working in collaboration with developers and local authorities to bring forward developments to enable Nottinghamshire to grow, whilst protecting the integrity and safety of the transport network.

You must have a high level of personal drive and commitment to excellent customer care, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to solve problems and meet targets.
