No two days are the same. Although the job is predominantly office based in Inverness, there will be opportunities to visit other areas of the Highlands and enjoy the scenery - as well as the sun, wind, rain and snow we sometimes get in one day!

We are looking for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer with a strong background in roads and winter maintenance. You will be working in a small team dealing with all aspects of road maintenance including contracts, developing policies and strategies, liaising with Council employees and outside parties, asset management and finances. A key element of the position will be to support our Area Operational offices.

Fundamental to the role will be the ability to provide technical advice for various aspects of road and winter maintenance along with good communication skills. You may be required to represent the Policy and Programmes Manager when necessary. An understanding of local government would be advantageous, along with an ability to influence key stakeholders.
