Technical Support Engineer

Role: Technical Support Engineer
Location : Bradford
Salary : £30,000 - £32,000

Hays Engineering and Manufacturing are delighted to be working with a forward thinking very successful packaging company based in Bradford who pride their selves first class customer delivery and service. Due to continued success are now looking to appoint a Full time Permanent Technical Support Engineer to join the team.

The role a Technical Support Engineer will include the below

• Build and modify machines in house
• Installation and commissioning machines on customer sites
• Face to face customer liaison throughout
• Operating and Engineering training on equipment
• Onsite technical support - Fault finding - Diagnosing machine faults using information provided by the customer
• Onsite servicing of existing equipment
• Liaising with customers via telephone and email to assess symptoms of the fault
• Reviewing engineering drawings to identify the correct replacement parts necessary to perform repairs
• Accurately search for and source replacement parts through online and catalogue suppliers
• Administer and arrange the shipment of replacement parts to site

Skills & Experience required of a Technical Support Engineer will include the below area's

• A strong background in a mechanical engineering related position
• Experience within the Packaging and or filling industry
• Knowledge with labelling, packaging, filling and sleaving machinery will be beneficial
• Electrical and mechanical qualifications and experience
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Software and PLC experience
• Strong written and spoken communication skills
• Good administrative and organisational ability
• Computer literate with MS Excel and MS Word

• Customer Care experience
• Be prepared to work away with overnight stays
  • Has to have a good sense of humour
  • Must be a team player - we have a strong culture and ethos, and they must be a "fit"
  • Be able to communicate on all levels - Cleaners to CEOs, and to treat everyone with the same respect
  • Empathy - ability to see issues from another's perspective
  • Strong willed
