Norfolk highways delivers all highway construction design projects within the County Council as part of its Capital Improvement and Structural Maintenance Programme including the Bridge Programme. The section also delivers VRS design, bridge inspections, asset management of the bridge stock and routine bridge maintenance work.

The Bridges Team provides an integrated design, inspection, asset management and technical service.

We are looking for a Project Engineer:

  • To project manage, lead/own and deliver the bridges routine maintenance programme and allocated schemes involving bridges and other structures across the full range of project sizes.
  • To lead a team of 4 to 5 team members depending on scope of work, delivering the bridges routine maintenance programme, inspections and a range of small, medium and major projects without significant levels of supervision from line manager.
  • A fully seasoned professional evidenced by relevant experience underpinned by knowledge and academic and professional achievement.
  • As an experienced engineer you will mentor junior members of the team and may be required to deputise for the Bridge Team Manager to cover short breaks or attend meetings
