Utilities Surveyor job based in The Midlands. Joining a busy Geotechnical team.

Your new role
You will work with high-performing teams who are passionate about using their expertise to find solutions to complex problems in water, environment, infrastructure, resource management, defence, energy, and international development. You will work across numerous sectors, including water, defence and nuclear as part of the Geospatial team within the Management & Surveying Business. This role offers a wide variety of projects to undertake due to the varying project locations, technical requirements and sectors.


What you'll need to succeed
You must ideally be able to prove that you are fully competent in utility mapping techniques, including electromagnetic detection and ground penetrating radar. You must also be comfortable with the standard outputs of utility surveying. You will have a strong health and safety culture with experience of operating safe systems of work, be ambitious, enthusiastic and have good communication skills. The team is based across the UK working on a variety of projects, therefore flexibility, overnight stays plus weekend and night work may be required. Your key experience will include:

  • Ability to undertake utility surveys in various environments with a working knowledge of PAS 128 M1-M4(P) methodologies.
  • Conversant with RD8000 (or similar) EML and Ground Penetrating Radar
  • Knowledge of modern data capture techniques such as Total Stations and GNSS.
  • Experience using AutoCAD, including data processing, interpretation and presentation of survey results.
  • Full driving licence
  • Suitability for security clearance
