Your new company is an award-winning diverse company of Consulting Engineers established in 1995. They have a range of expertise in structural engineering, civil engineering and party wall matters. Based in Bristol, they serve the South West of England and Wales and extend their services through to London and throughout the UK. They work on a range of projects and like to be involved from an early stage, right through the design process and construction, up to completion.

Your new company aim to consider each client's specific needs and believe their success lies in their passion for engineering practical, simple solutions using a sustainable approach towards materials like concrete, steel, timber, masonry and glass. Occasionally they undertake projects involving less common materials, such as straw bales, and always enjoy involvement in quirky public art installations.

Your new role
You will be working on a number of residential & commercial developments across the South West, conducting a number of civil / infrastructure designs. The core skills within the group are flood risk, drainage, SUDS, earthworks, pavement design, level strategies, utilities and access road designs. You can often be appointed from feasibility through to construction and often advise throughout the construction period. You will need to be an individual capable of leading on flood risk and associated policy, noting that the above core skills would also be beneficial.

What you'll need to succeed
You will ideally hold a degree or masters and will be committed to your own professional development ideally by working towards, or have already achieved, an appropriate professional qualification (ICE or CIWEM). You will be competent in the use of AutoCAD and MicroDrainage. You will also need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong numerical skills; experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams and client/stakeholder liaison; possess effective planning and organisation skills; have an ability to multi-task efficiently under pressure and maintain high level of attention to detail; understand the needs of your clients and colleagues; and possess a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
