Senior Structural Consultant

A chartered civil (MICE) or structural (MIStructE)  engineer is required by a leading provider of forensic engineering consultancy services. You will become a key member of a highly experienced multi-discipline engineering team. They are involved in civil & structural, fire and explosion investigation, environmental engineering, failure analysis and accident reconstruction. They are looking an engineer with expertise in a broad range of building structures or civil structures gained within a consulting environment. You should have a high level of technical expertise covering most building and material types. This should include an understanding of the whole design and construction process and an appreciation for the risks involved. Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communications are essential.

Your role will be to investigate building and civil engineering superstructures to establish the cause of a failure. This will require a physical survey and the preparation of a report that will withstand scrutiny by legal experts and peers. Projects will tend to be high value schemes covering high-rise buildings, industrial buildings, defence, ports & harbours, airports, road, rail, water & waste water. Occasional international travel will be required.
