Civils Quantity Surveyor / Assistant QS

Quantity Surveyor or Assistant QS with Civils experience
Needed for temporary cover while they find a permanent employee


Your new company
Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor with Civil Engineering experience?

Your new role

  • Tendering including preparation of bills of quantities.
  • Drawing take-offs using Bluebeam software
  • Sending enquiry documentation, quotation assessment, task order award and instructions to our supply chain where required.
  • Implementing a procurement strategy to identify and analyse financial commercial risks and to inform appropriate responses.
  • Allocation of work to subcontractors with agreed contracts and within budget.
  • Submitting Applications for Payment and managing supply chain payments including all relevant documentation, ensuring cost and value reconciliation is performed and works are within budget.
  • Visiting sites for valuations/variations and meetings as required.
  • Management of site level change management including early warning and compensation event/variations.
  • Working within agreed timescales.
  • Maintaining an awareness of building contracts.



What you'll need to succeed

  • HNC/HND or higher qualification in Quantity Surveying
  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry and experience in measuring Civil Engineering works.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communicator with excellent presentation skills
  • Able to form constructive working relationships with colleagues, suppliers and customers.
  • Detailed knowledge of the tender process within the construction industry
  • Experience in managing a portfolio of projects within the Construction/ Infrastructure industry, from tendering through to final account.
  • Understanding of construction contracts and their commercial mechanisms.
  • Working towards MRICS or MCIOB desirable but not essential Full driving licence
