Criticality Safety engineer based home and warrington office working in the nuclear sector up to £55000 salary

Your new company
You will be joining a large international consultancy who are looking to expand the nuclear and power business in warrington with a criticality safety engineer. The company have a huge variety of projects to work on, you'll have plenty of opportunities to grow and challenge yourself as a consultant.

Your new role
Working within the Power New Build business, you will be supporting delivery on a number of client
projects, either on behalf of the consultancy or even based within the client's organisation. The role will be versatile and encompass all stages of project delivery, from initial set up, to delivery of the finished project.
Within the Power New Build business our clients work in highly regulated nuclear environments and you
will be directing your multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex and unique projects.
Main aspects of the role will include enhancing radiation protection and safety processes and procedures,
assisting in the production of bids and proposals, and implementing and contributing to our safety culture,
an environment we value so greatly.

What you'll need to succeed
Science or engineering expertise (physics, chemistry, mechanical, chemical or process engineering, Degree qualified or equivalent)
Understanding and experience of utilising industry recognised radiation transport codes such as; MCNP,
MONK, SCALE, for k-effective calculations.
Successful delivery of criticality assessments including development of key associated documentation
such as Hazard Analysis (HAZANS), Criticality Advice Notes (CANs) and Criticality Clearance Certificates
(CCCs).
Experience working as a radiation shielding within multi-disciplined project teams
Teamwork and Leadership qualities
An appreciation of what's required for design, when working in safety critical industries, like Nuclear
An appreciation of project and client management
An understanding of the fundamental factors which contribute to business success
You will need basic security clearance for this.

Salary depending on experience £40000 - £55000 plus 25 days holiday and bank holidays, pension up to 10%, life assurance etc. Currently the vast majority is home working with ad hoc office work but longer term expecting 50/50 home and office working.
