Radiation Shielding engineer - warrington & home based working in the nuclear sector.

Your new company

You will be joining one of the leading international consultancies who are looking for a Radiation Shielding Engineer in the Nuclear & Power Division based from the warrington office and home. This will play a vital role designing complex new schemes to protect clients' assets. With a huge variety of projects to work on, you'll have plenty of opportunities to grow and challenge yourself as a consultant

Your new role
Working within the Power New Build business, you will be supporting delivery on a number of client
projects, either on behalf of the company or even based within the client's organisation. The role will be versatile
and encompass all stages of project delivery, from initial set up, to delivery of the finished project.
Within the Power New Build business our clients work in highly regulated nuclear environments and you
will be directing your multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex and unique projects.
Main aspects of the role will include enhancing radiation protection and safety processes and procedures,
assisting in the production of bids and proposals, and implementing and contributing to the safety culture,
an environment.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have Science or engineering expertise (physics, chemistry, mechanical, chemical or process engineering, Degree qualified or equivalent)
Understanding and experience of industry recognised radiation transport codes such as; MCNP,
MCBEND, RANKERN, SCALE, ATTILA.
Successful delivery of shielding assessments including development of key associated documentation
such as Bulk/Detailed Shielding, Dose & ALARP Assessment Reports
Experience working as a radiation shielding within multi-disciplined project teams
Teamwork and Leadership qualities
An appreciation of what's required for design, when working in safety critical industries, like Nuclear
An appreciation of project and client management
An understanding of the fundamental factors which contribute to business success
