Overview: Representing the Structures Discipline to include work on RC & Precast Concrete Frames, Basements and general civils & structures elements on self-delivered projects.

Scope: Mixed-use developments, High Rise, Schools, Hospitals and various Mega Projects

Location: London Kensington, Kent and Essex available

Variety of works: in-situ RC frames, jump form, slipform, pre-cast and cut and carve

Laing O'Rourke has some incredible opportunities for Project Engineers to get involved in our major projects division. We several areas that include civils and structures, basements, RC and precast concrete frames for some amazing buildings. All being able to utilise Laing O'Rourke's extensive delivery capabilities and off-site manufacturing facility.

You will get to work closely with other members of the project delivery team. Some of the major projects have included Hinkley, HS2, The Grange University Hospital, Manchester Airport Transformation, Francis Crick Institute, Olympia development and Whiteleys development to name a few.

Our Project Engineers have knowledge of dimensional control, quality, inspection & testing, materials and plant, temporary works, design process, change control, commercial and functional management.

What expertise do you need?

• Temporary works coordination - Formwork, propping, falsework, lifting equipment.
• Reinforced concrete (RC), structures and frames packages of work
• Construction methodology
• Analysing models for buildability and suggesting improvements or alternatives
• Lookaheads and feasibility of design
• Helping the engineering team to understand what is required for delivery, directly communicating to them and helping to control onsite activities
• Looking after a team of engineering professionals with line management responsibility of up to 10 directly employed engineers
• Responsibility of any sub-contractors and overall responsibility for workforce.
• Interfacing with the Construction Managers, Senior Project Manager and Principal Engineers

As a Project Engineer you will oversee a team of Senior Engineers, Section Engineers and Site Engineers along with management of subcontractors. You will also be a liaison point for the end client and design partners on the project. The Project Engineer role is based in London and offers an excellent renumeration package along with extensive benefits.
