CAD Technician - Multi Utility - Electrical Distribution - 33kv
Your new company

They are responsible for the Infrastructure Installations for a range of clients who see them as market leaders. Your new role
* Use site surveys, existing plans, drawings and technical knowledge to prepare designs and schemes of work, construct workable plans.
* Responsible for managing flow of work, meeting team deadlines and prioritisation of own work load.
* Liaison with external CAD resources where necessary.
* Liaison with all designers, legal team, SHEQ team and all regional operational teams.
* Liaison with clients and client design teams including architects and planners.
* Document control in accordance with policies and procedures.
* Ensure all drawings are consistent and compliant with CAD standards
* Converting client drawings into a workable background.
* Producing/revising tender proposals for issue to client.
* Producing/revising multi-utility route drawings.
* Preliminary and construction status, gas, water, electric drawings to industry and company standards.
* Sections and details to comply with industry standards, NJUG, site specific requirements, etc.
* Producing/Revising formal legal drawings for substation acquisitions and cable/pipe easements.
* Producing/revising electrical single line diagrams.
* Producing/revising CDM plans.
* Producing/updating As-Laid records.
* Producing/revising general arrangement and setting out proposals for Integral Substations including building cross sections and guidance notes. Including the ability to visualise the proposed installation in a 3D environment and anticipate potential clashes/other issues and assist the MU designers/client team in resolving them.
What you'll need to succeed
* Technically qualified with a City & Guilds Level 3 Award in 2D CAD qualification in Construction.
* Qualification in technical drawing, preferable.
* Extensive working experience of using AutoCAD
* Experience of working on projects in the construction or electricity industries.
* Experienced in design work on all voltages up to 33kV and civil works advantageous.
* Structural and civil knowledge and experience preferable.
