Working alongside the director of their London office you will provide management and strategic support, with an emphasis on securing new work around highways and bridge design. Together you will identify potential project and framework opportunities, research client requirements and the bidding process, the potential profitability, or otherwise of schemes and prepare bids and proposals. There will be regular contact with existing and new clients and joint venture partners. More generally you will have strategic input on the long term development of the business. The position provides progression to senior management, which is likely to be swift during this period of growth.
You should be a senior level engineer operating at senior engineer, associate or project manager level. A consulting engineering background should include some input in developing new business. You will need a degree in civil or structural engineering and be an incorporated or chartered civil engineer or equivalent. Consideration will be given to those who are on the cusp of professional qualification. Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential.
