An opportunity for an HND, or degree qualified civil engineer to work with a client organisation that owns, operates and develops extensive building and civil infrastructure. Their expanding portfolio includes roads, bridges, pavement, drainage, buildings, specialist logistics and light industrial facilities. This is an organisation overseeing the continuous operation of vital infrastructure and services, providing their employees with long term career development prospects. You will be a key member of a team of construction professionals and engineers, providing construction management assistance, with a special focus on CDM related issues.
You will gain invaluable construction management experience covering new and maintenance works. Under the guidance of a senior construction manager your role will entail the preparation of specifications and contract documentation, collaboration with external consulting engineers, the management of appointed contractors, CDM co-ordination and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and promoting best practice. The workload will be diverse, spanning high value capital works, reactive and planned maintenance and major improvement and expansion projects.
Your background; A consulting or contacting background, this should have provided exposure to site based and design activities. Ideally some experience of working on NEC 3 or 4 forms of contract, plus knowledge of CDM regulations. A minimum of four years work experience with good interpersonal and organisational skills. Holder of a valid UK driving licence.
