Structural Technician

An AutoCAD technician with a background in buildings, industrial or civil structures is required by a leading consultancy. Our client is independently owned, they have remained at the forefront of the property and building sector for over sixty years. This opportunity to join their civil and structural consultancy division will provide work in growth sectors, technical breadth and career development prospects. As a member of a team of three civil and structural CAD technicians, you will collaborate with civil and structural engineering colleagues on a range of projects. These will include the structural elements of renewable energy schemes, universities, residential, data centres and historic buildings.

The Role:  Your work will focus on the production of two-dimensional drawings using AutoCAD. This will include the production of structural general arrangements, layouts, elevations and detail drawings for steel and reinforced concrete projects, typically associated with buildings and their foundations. Support and guidance will be on hand from your CAD and engineering colleagues, enabling you to get up to speed on their processes and methods of working. You will have the option of being home based with occasional weekly office visits, should you prefer.    

About You: At least four years AutoCAD experience and qualified to HNC level or above. A background that includes draughting related to the superstructures of buildings, civil or industrial structures. Experience of producing RC and steel general arrangement drawings. Excellent team working skills and a willingness to learn and develop your career.
