About the role and our team

Join our team as a Senior Structures Engineer within the Department of Infrastructure on the Isle of Man!

Within this role, you will be part of a diverse team of specialities working together to deliver, design and maintain capital and maintenance projects of the Departments network of Infrastructure involving Highways, Harbours, Airports, Drainage and Government Properties. 

You will also assist and be responsible for ensuring that projects are carried out safely, to specification and within the time and budget constraints.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading change/continuous improvement
  • Preparing contract documentation for the various design projects
  • Devising forward looking strategies and systems to implement new processes and ways of working
  • Managing the presentation of projects to senior management, political members and external planning inspectors

This role also offers you the chance to develop your leadership skills as you’ll manage the Graduate Civil Engineers and Technicians on various projects and to assist with their continued professional development.

We are looking for someone enthusiastic, with good team working and communication skills to join our team who work within a professional but friendly environment, support one another and are encourage to work to their strengths.
