Structural AutoCAD Technician

This is an opportunity to widen your knowledge and gain experience in the rapidly growing renewables sector. It will suit a technician with a civil or structural background gained in the building, industrial or civil infrastructure sector. A broad workload is on offer with an emphasis on steel and concrete structures. In addition to their renewables work you be involved in data centres, commercial, educational, industrial and electrical infrastructure projects. However, it is renewable energy that drives much of their growth as the UK transitions to low carbon economy over the next ten years. The position can be largely home based if preferred, you will be provided with  high spec computer hardware and an expensed company iphone.      

The company: One of the longest established firms in their sector, they are an independent LLP partnership with expertise in building, construction, conservation, property, expert witness, land development, surveying and engineering. They employ in excess of two hundred personnel.  

Your Role: Working alongside their civil and structural engineers. Your focus will be on the production of structural general arrangement, layout and detail drawings using AutoCAD. The workload will cover a range of civil and structural topics associated with building and civil works for sub stations, solar farms, renewable energy distribution and mainstream building structures. You will occasionally accompany engineering colleagues to carry out site surveys. 

About You:  Qualified to HNC level or above, fully conversant with AutoCAD with a background in building or industrial structures with some experience of associated civil engineering. Able to produce RC and steel general arrangement drawings and collaborate with engineering colleagues to deliver accurate and timely work.
