Quantity Surveyor (Utilities)
Location: Southampton/Portsmouth/Aldershot/Epsom/Horley
My client is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to add to their already successful team. The ideal candidate will have an interest in developing in a highly regulated environment and will be empowered to deliver regulated procurement and post contract administration, including expenditure management and dispute resolution. You will be a commercially driven Quantity Surveyor who thrives in a fast paced but rewarding utility industry.
The successful candidate will undertake a lead role in the delivery of our long-term mains replacement programme. This role provides a fantastic opportunity for personal and career development, with exposure to business and senior management stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include securing and maintaining an industry leading supply chain and driving competitive delivery through robust contract administration whilst adopting value engineering changes to maximise delivery efficiency.
The Quantity Surveyor will be expected to;
- Prepare tender documentation (including draft contracts and bills of quantities) to support the successful delivery of Dynamic Purchasing Systems.
- Enhance supplier relationships and commercial advantage by pricing and forecasting costs of project materials.
- Monitor changes to project costs and inform budget projections accordingly.
- Liaise with interfacing stakeholders such as Legal, Operations and Finance.
- Contribute to periodic reporting required by business directors.
- Consider contract risk profiles and advise mitigation actions.
- Undertake peer reviews on Category Strategy Plans to ensure value and suitability for mains replacement activities.
