Role Purpose

As a Programme Analyst you will provide oversight, analysis and reporting of various capital programmes delivered by the Projects and Programme Delivery team. You will be responsible for collating and reporting on quality, cost, time and risk of all projects within each portfolio at a strategic programme level.

Central to the analysis of information and delivery of the reports will be collaboration, positive challenge and engagement with colleagues (including Project Managers, Project Executives, Team Leaders and the Projects and Programme Delivery Manager) and the use and development of NRW’s corporate IT systems.

The analysis, interpretation and reports will reflect multiple aspects of the projects and programmes, including:

  • their drivers, objectives, outcomes and stakeholders;
  • their governance / approvals status;
  • the forms of contract used for the procurement of goods and services, and
  • their progress through the stages of identification, development and delivery.

Portfolios include the Flood Risk Management programme, the Reservoir Compliance programme, the Hydrometry and Telemetry upgrades programme, Fisheries programme, Metal Mines remediation programme and Forestry Estate infrastructure programme.

The principles of SMNR and the Well-being of Future Generations Act are to be considered in all decision making and will therefore be integral to the reporting aspect of this role.

Qualifications and Skills

  1. Educated to Degree or Diploma or similar level.
  2. Excellent numeracy skills.
  3. Sound knowledge of project and programme management.
  4. Must be able to independently solve problems by considering different methods within the guidance of defined procedures and frameworks and deciding the most appropriate to use.
  5. Must be able to work on own initiative and demonstrate the ability to work flexibly within the service.
  6. Frequent contacts with people within and outside the team to provide or obtain information, excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed.
  7. Strong ability to analyse and interpret information is essential.
  8. Prince2 Foundation would be beneficial.
