The role

The Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Bristol is looking to recruit a Lecturer in Sustainable Design. The Department is part of the School of Civil, Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering and is renowned for delivering both high quality teaching and world-class research, attracting the highest calibre of students and providing an intellectually stimulating environment.

This teaching-focused role included educational leadership and engagement on discipline-specific and/or pedagogical research. The teaching will be focused on including teaching design of civil and other engineering projects.

What will you be doing?

  • You will be expected to contribute to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, to students on the BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering or Engineering Design, on our joint first-year and on related postgraduate programmes.
  • You will contribute to the delivery, and expansion of our capabilities, in teaching fundamental principles and application of full design cycle analysis, with consideration to sustainability and global challenges.
  • You will be involved in academic administration roles supporting the leadership      of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes.
