A Quality Engineer job based in Derby (inc nights & weekends on 4on/4off rota) paying £50 per hour
Your new company
Hays are delighted to be assisting our client in urgently recruiting a number of Quality Engineers to join their new manufacturing and production site based in Derby on an initial contract until April, with the potential for extension. The purpose of the contract is to support them in the delivery of key quality duties for this government-led project.
Your new role
Your main responsibility will be to provide and oversee the quality inspection of product in line with quality standards, specifically ISO 13485. You will ensure the product and process meet operational quality standards and work alongside the senior management team to ensure this. Other duties include:
- Provide quality advice and support to other departments.
- Monitor trends in quality and take action when needed.
- Maintain good technical knowledge in order to improve processes and procedures.
- Plan, implement, and guarantee that the procedures meet operational quality requirements.
- Document all processes and procedures and report the effectiveness of the Quality Management System.
- Build relationships with stakeholders and communicate with them effectively and clearly.
- Perform other tasks and activities to support the operation.
Shift patterns include a 4on/4off rota across 7 days, including nights. Candidates without the right to work in the UK (no sponsorship will be given) or not happy working nights and weekends need not apply.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role you will:
- Previous experience in a Quality Engineer role.
- Have working knowledge and experience with ISO 13485, or other ISO quality standards.
- High levels of Excel skills.
- Experience within a manufacturing, supply chain or logistics environment.
- Adaptable to complex and ever-changing environments.
- Be a self-motivated and organised individual.

In return you will be offered an exceptional hourly rate of £50 per hour to support with this key government contract.
