Our Housing and Landlord Services built a new Specialist project team to meet the changing demands on our property portfolio.

The team is responsible for the refurbishment of some of the older stock, conversion of properties and community spaces, extensions/ changes to existing properties to meet the long term needs of our customer base and reduce the Housing waiting list.

You will be based at Sandy Park Depot and will need to have a good knowledge of various construction types and have experience in the management of major development, building construction and refurbishment projects including demolition from inception to completion and be able to develop new ideas and innovation and demonstrate best practise.  You'll have a BEng or MEng Civil / Structural Engineering or Engineering Design and commercial experience, or similar. We're looking for a self-starter who has excellent communication and organisation skills.

You will be a good team player who will enjoy working as part of our dynamic, growing team. A good knowledge of steel, concrete, timber and load bearing masonry structures is essential and the ability to design to British Standards or Eurocodes.  Experience with computer software is desirable – notably TEKLA Structural Designer, Robot and TEDDS.

This is permanent position and you'll have the opportunity to take on a variety of projects and be involved in all aspects from scheme design, through to construction on site. 

You will undertake site visits throughout Bristol in relation to extension and refurbishment, as well as working on existing-build schemes, and have a good understanding of procurement and contracts and how to achieve high quality results.

You must be able to use ladders and scaffolds to access works. You’ll be required to move around the city using transport, so a full driving license is essential.
