Engineering CAD Technician

Your new role
Joining as part of the Engineering team, but potentially providing wider support across the business; you'll have a fantastic opportunity to support the Engineering team to develop designs for power, infrastructure and built environment projects using 2D & 3D software. Your main duties will include:

• prepare 3D models and 2D detail drawings from engineer's sketches
• Responsible for document management and the issuing of drawings
• Support Digital Engineering Lead in maintaining CAD standards, best practice and processes for modelling, content creation and advanced digital developments
• Manage procurement of site data, such as stats searches and topographical surveys
• Assist with on-site survey work

What you'll need to succeed
You will be proficient in using Civil 3D and AutoCAD, alternatively you have experience using a similar 3D software. Key skills and knowledge you need to demonstrate includes:

• HNC (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering; or HNC CAD
• Knowledge of highways, drainage, and earthworks/levels design
• Understanding of engineering/civil drawings
• Familiarity with British Standards/Codes of Practice
• EngTech MICE (or working towards)
• Experience working in a Common Data Environment such as ProjectWise, BIM360, 4Projects, Aconex or similar
• A good team player confident to liaise with other staff locally and across the global business
• Strong written communication skills - able to annotate changes in the description of works
• Good verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage time with multiple tasks and work to deadlines
