Civil Engineer

An opportunity with a respected niche employer offering a change career direction that will  build upon your existing expertise. The position is with a certification body, your role will be that of ‘assessor’ for one of their busier UK regions.

You should be chartered or incorporated engineer or  technician, with civil / structural expertise and site based supervisory experience. You will cover the Midlands region with occasional work in the Northern Home Counties. Your role will be to take responsibility for planning assessment programmes, assessing company management systems, production techniques, testing and control processes and site practices for compliance with International, UK and proprietary standards. Your recommendations on certification status will be made directly to the manager of the scheme. A measured, careful, professional and responsible manner with the ability to engender confidence in clients, including board directors of national and international corporations, is essential. The company is succession planning as key personnel are approaching retirement and they take on new business lines. The new recruit can expect promising career prospects.

There will be extensive contact with key representatives from client companies as you prepare them to attain the required standards for certification. This will then move on to assessing their production processes and site based construction. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential as is a valid UK driving licence.
