Mechanical Design Engineer Derby Up to £40,000 DOE

Your new company
You will work for a leading manufacturer who design a unique and bespoke range of equipment for the pharmaceutical sector . You will be based in their Derby office and work amongst a team of 55 members, however they also have a sister company of 250 employees. As you will be housed under an umbrella of companies with a global reach, there will be a plethora of projects for you to get your teeth stuck into. A real centre of excellence for aspiring design engineers.


Your new role
You will work as a Mechanical Design Engineer, predominately working with medical packaging and/or devices, with the use of workshop machinery. The role is to provide specialist mechanical engineering expertise that is required for designing and building, packaging machinery, automation equipment, jigs, and fixtures to meet the requirements of the business and its customers. Day to day duties will also involve office competency. Therefore, will include the use of Microsoft, Outlook, and FileMaker. Working within a team of engineers, the ability to work as part of a team is essential yet also working on and off your own initiative at times is expected.


What you'll need to succeed
You will have a competent knowledge and experience of SolidWorks/CAD packages or similar systems and be educated to a degree level in design, engineering or a similar discipline. You should also have 5 years minimum experience in the manufacturing sector. It is desirable if you are competent in the understanding of engineering and workshop machinery and knowledge and experience of working with medical packaging and/or devices. Furthermore, you will also have a great attention to detail and identify and solve problems in a timely manner.
