Infrastructure Engineer

We are working with a specialist engineering firm who are currently in the process of growing their UK business. As a result they are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join the team in their Chelmsford office on a full time permanent basis. If you have a minimum of 3 years' civil engineering experience, which should include developing concept designs, producing technical design information, drawings and specification and attending site and client meetings, we would like to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

• Leading the provision of simple technical reports,
• Identifying and developing design solutions,
• Working reliably as part of a technical team to provide high quality service offer to clients,
• Obtaining information from third parties: OS mapping; utilities searches; highway boundary plans and training others to do so, , working on a wide range of multi-disciplinary projects,
• Taking responsibility for delivering more complex tasks, modelling, calculations or drawings to support Project Managers,
• Developing and demonstrating good communication skills, internally to the project team and externally with clients and third parties,
• Drafting emails and letters to clients, planning officers and other third parties,
• Attending meetings as a client's representative with third parties,
• Development of company business and working with other teams to achieve company targets.

Requirements:

• An Meng/MSc in civil engineering,
• A Chartered Civil Engineer or near Chartered,
• A minimum of 3 years' experience,
• Strong experience in roads & drainage design,
• Experience of the following: Highways Design (Section 38 & 278), Swept Path Analysis, Drainage Design (Section 104, 106 and 185), Hydraulic design (piped networks and SuDS design),
• Strong analytical and research skills,
• Experience of design software which could include AutoCAD 2D, PDS, Civils 3D, Microdrainage & Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to liaise directly with clients, architects and other parties.
