Summary

The Purpose of this role is lead on all aspects of engineering on SCS, including Engineering support during construction, Asset Protection, Survey and technical interfaces. The Role reports to the Technical Director.

Delivery is managed by Area teams, this role is responsible for ensuing quality, compliance with SCS management systems and the contract with HS2.

Main Responsibilities

  • Leadership of SCS Engineering Services, including Site Engineering, Asset Protection, Survey Asset Protection and Interfaces.
  • Developing and Maintaining the Technical Processes required for to ensure SCS comply with legal requirements, SCS strategies and the Works information
  • Providing governance and Assurance to the Project Management Team that the required processes are being complied with.
  • Ensuring the Asset Protection Strategy is maintained and delivery supported to ensure safety and schedule.
  • Acts as the Lead Designer for the integration of the interfaces between permanent design and temporary works design activities as delegated by Technical Director
  • Ensuring that Engineering support health and Safety during construction, and maintenance operation


Ideal Candidate

  • Educated to degree or higher and hold relevant professional qualification
  • Sustained Continuing Professional Development.
  • Experience in project-based engineering management across all project stages
  • Experience of large complex projects in the rail, highways, water or energy sectors.
  • Experience of managing the challenges associated with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Understanding of digital engineering in design and construction phases and of using the Digital Plan of Works.
  • Working knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
