This client side opportunity for a civil engineer is with a leading UK PLC in their major projects division. The position calls for an engineer with design management and delivery experience, ideally gained within the highways, rail, utilities or heavy civil engineering industries. Your primary role will be to ensure timely, compliant design delivery and the co-ordination of framework consultants and internal and external stakeholders. The firm is a market leader in renewable and conventional power generation and distribution. They are investing heavily in upgrading and enhancing their assets to keep pace with demand.
You will work closely with internal project managers, external design consultants and contractors to ensure full co-ordination and adherence to project timelines. You will review civil and structural designs to ensure they meet company and industry standards and specifications. This will require a general understanding of CDM regulations. More generally you will be required to learn how their design process works and apply your interpersonal, organisational and technical skills to deliver projects and improve performance.
Your Profile; You should be either chartered or approaching chartered status with the ICE, IStructE or a similar body. Experience of civil or structural engineering project delivery should be supported by a technical background that provides design insight. You will have ten or more years industry experience with a consulting practice, contractor, or client organisation. Your communication and interpersonal skills will be well developed, enabling you to work effectively with a diverse range of colleagues and stakeholders.
