Building Structures Engineer

The Role: With the support of an associate, you will carry out conceptual designs, negotiate fees and supervise detail design and delivery. You will develop a close working relationship with architects, taking more ownership of schemes as your understanding of their requirements builds. You will work closely with the junior engineers and technicians assisting you and provide technical guidance.

Your First Project: Subject to your start date will work on one or more of the following projects, an ambitious £60m project to convert a grade II listed Victorian cotton mill to provide commercial, restaurant, entertainment and cultural facilities. A new £25m residential development designed to meet the highest standards of sustainability.  A £10m extension and refurbishment of a grade II listed hotel.

About you: A building structures engineer with a strong interest in architecture and engineering. A willingness to work towards chartered status with the IStructE or ICE. A 2:1 or above in civil or structural engineering. Experience of working well in a team environment. A strong technical interest with good lateral thinking skills.
