Contract Senior Structural Engineer - Remote Working
Your new company
Your new company boasts over 130 staff across the UK while retaining it's personal relationship with each employee. They are currently working across a range of education, defence, health, commercial and residential projects, seeing them from conception through to build. Their main office in the Northwest is located in the heart of Manchester, with easy access to public transport and carparking. With over 60 years' of UK industry experience, this multidisciplinary ensures each of it's staff and contractors perform to the highest of their capabilities and in doing so has gain the trust and respect of both clients and the colleagues across the industry.
Your new role
Your new role will see you working as a structural engineer on a 1-2 month contract working predominantly on residential schemes which include traditional housing units and low-mid rise buildings. Your main focus will be on calculations, and conceptional and detailed designs of residential units. The role will include working with load-bearing masonry and the calculations of 20 units. These calculations can either be completed using design software such as TEDDs and Masterseries or done by hand. This role would ideally see you work from the office 1 day-per-week however, this role can be completed from a remote working option.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will be a structural/ senior structural engineer. You will have experience working across a range of residential projects and have the knowledge and ability to work autonomously to deliver calculations on a timely manner. You will also be working closely with the technician team so good communication skills are a must. You will have a degree in civil/ structural engineering and have a minimum of 5 years' UK structural engineering experience.
