Your new role

My client is seeking an enthusiastic and talented person with excellent communication skills and technical ability in most aspects of noise and vibration. In this role, you will apply these skills across a variety of projects, undertaking noise and vibration surveys across the UK, predictive calculations and modelling, technical report writing, building acoustics design, environmental impact assessment, and providing mitigation advice. You will be expected to provide technical support to junior members of the noise and vibration team, contribute towards our continued growth and development, as well as being involved in identifying business opportunities and providing clients with robust and helpful advice.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant subject and/or the IOA Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control;
  • Some professional experience in acoustics, with most being in consultancy;
  • Experience of noise monitoring surveys, environmental noise assessment, and planning guidance;
  • Working knowledge of legislation and guidelines relevant to the acoustics sector;
  • Experience in the use of noise modelling software and preferably AutoCAD;
  • Commercial understanding, an interest in securing new business and confidence at the client-interface;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organisational and analytical skills;
  • Project management experience;
  • Corporate membership of the Institute of Acoustics; and
  • Willingness to travel, including possibly to international destinations.
