Senior Quantity Surveyor

Your new company
You will be joining a sector-leading contractor specialising in design & build non-infrastructure water solutions based in the Midlands working on a major UK water framework. This company has a strong pipeline of work in the water sector, with major programmes and projects valued upwards of £100million. Specialising in water and wastewater solutions, this organisation takes a tailored and innovative approach to every project to ensure specific requirements are met as well as their clients' needs. With this company you will be working on multiple exciting projects on a major water framework.

Your new role
You will be reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor and be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Actively monitoring contractors and liaising with projects managers across all major projects
• Attending prestart meetings and internal meetings as required
• Managing subcontractors to ensure the work being executed is per their order
• Applying for payments and reconciling costs
• Pricing variations
• Carrying out regular visits to major project sites where required

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will be able to prioritise and work within set deadlines as well as possess strong interpersonal skills and communication skills with the ability to build and improve effective internal and external working relationships. You will also have a degree qualification in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent), preferably with at least 2 years' experience in heavy civils, water or clean water. In addition, you will have sound estimation skills with negotiation experience of confirming, agreeing and pricing variations, as well as sound knowledge of construction contracts (NEC3/NEC4 in particular). Previous experience working on major water frameworks is favourable.
