A Manufacturing & Planning Engineer job in Nottingham within aerospace paying up to £45,000 per annum DOE

Your new company
Hays are delighted to be working alongside our global aerospace partner client in recruiting a Manufacturing & Planning Engineer to join their successful operation in Nottingham. This organisation are dedicated to their people and out of their first-class manufacturing facility produce complex products for the aerospace sector.

Your new role
In your new role as Manufacturing & Planning Engineer you will be key in identifying improvements and areas for change, whilst maintaining compliance to customer requirements. Main responsibilities included in your role are:

  • Support the NPI and new bid teams.
  • Developing solutions to existing manufacturing problems.
  • Ensuring processes are adequate to manufacturing requirements.
  • Creating amendments for rework operations.
  • Using 8D, RCCA etc problem solving tools on a daily basis.
  • Cost reduction.
  • Raising concessions for non-conformances.
  • Assisting in the implementation of LEAN methodology across the business.
  • APQP's & PFMEA'S.

Working hours are Monday - Thursday 8am - 5pm, with a 1pm finish on a Friday.


What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in your new role you will:

  • Be Masters degree educated in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering, or with relevant experience in the aerospace sector.
  • Knowledge of production processes, costs, quality control, raw materials and other methods, within aerospace.
  • Experienced within product manufacturing.
  • Problem solving capabilities and techniques, including root cause analysis.
  • Strong experience within engineering planning.
