CAD Technician / Engineer Trainee

Job Type: Civil / Structural CAD technician to train as an engineer.

Overview: A structural CAD technician with the desire to become an engineer is sought by a leading engineering and property consultancy. Training, mentorship and invaluable real-world engineering experience will be provided, as will support for further vocational studies and professional membership.

Your role: Under the mentorship and guidance of a principal MIStructE engineer you will assist in the design of building structures projects in steel, concrete and masonry. You will be part of a small project team, working closely with a senior engineer, graduates and the CAD department. You will regularly accompany senior colleagues during site visits and project meetings. In time, as your experience and skills evolve, you will take on more responsibility for delivering your own own work packages.        

About You: You should have an HNC/HND or Degree in civil or structural engineering, or an equivalent qualification, and have around two or more years work experience. You should have had some expose to elements of structural design in your capacity as a CAD technician. Most importantly you must have a keen desire to build on your existing skills and embark on journey of learning and development. Good interpersonal skills are essential, you will be part of a small and friendly civil & structural team that works closely together to deliver projects.
