We are currently looking for a Civil Engineering Standards Specialist. This is an excellent opportunity for somebody with a Civil Engineering background looking to progress professionally and to influence both company and industry standards. This is a key role to ensure our standards and specifications drive effective investment in civil assets and ensure continuous improvement via the assessment and implementation of innovative techniques and materials.
Working with both internal and external stakeholders the successful candidate will ensure our standards are effective whilst ensuring best practice is captured and innovation is introduced to standards in a managed way. To be successful it is key that you have proven experience in effectively communicating and influencing stakeholders at all levels including customers.
You will be working with a Team of Standards Specialists to develop and manage the company’s asset standards ensuring that our investment programme delivers safe, compliant, effective, sustainable and resilient assets .
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience of:
- Above & below ground civil structures
- Gravity and pressure pipework
- Civil Engineering materials
- Construction techniques including off site manufacture
In addition to this core knowledge the successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills enabling them to ‘make the complex simple’ for stakeholders via:
- The development and maintenance of written standards and specifications
- Collaboration and engaging discussion
- Timely, clear and concise written updates and bulletins
